About me
Lee Chen is a professional interpreter and translator based in the Valencia City in Spain. Her native language is Chinese-Mandarin. Her equipment of Chinese language was an influence of her family and her own interests. In her former job, one of the major task was to write report and present to directors of companies. The reports are written in Chinese or English, many times required translation the original information from English to Chinese or vice versa. Those reports are usually included legal issues, financial terms, technology terms. Because of her enthusiasm of language, she also writes poems, articles, and blogs in her spare time.
She graduated with a science degree in Taiwan. After a couple years of practicing her studies, she pursued her studying in United States. She then earns the master degree in business administration, specialized in Finance. Her science background and the solid business knowledge had helped her throughout the period of hard working as an independent account officer. Digging out information, interviewing CEOs, CFOs, negotiating the price per share, and even to raise the new funds were her duties. Throughout the years, she had travel around, mostly in China and US. The art of the languages is the basic skill she needed to have, as in talking or in writing.
In 2005 She relocated to Spain. Up to now, she already attained the Diploma de Español (Nivel intermedio / Intermediate level), from the official school of language (La escuela oficia de idioma) in Spain. She is currently preparing for her Diploma de Español (Nivel superior / Proficiency level) . This qualification accredits the necessary linguistic competence to integrate in situations requiring an advanced use of the language and knowledge of the cultural customs embedded within it. This is also a basic requirement to teach spanish as a foreign language in non-Spanish speaking countries.
To further enhance her translation skills, she is also currently pursuing The Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL) Diploma in Translation, which is a professional qualification, in United Kingdom since the year 1989. It is one of the few examinations that allows translators working from Spanish into English (and many other language combinations as well) to show that they have reached a professional level of competence.
